We accept submissions between August 15th and March 15th. We do not read submissions outside the deadlines (they only unchain us for three weeks in the summer, and we hate missing that).

All submissions should have a brief cover letter that includes contact information (name, address, phone number, email), and all snail-mail submissions should also include a self-addressed stamped envelope for our response and be addressed to the appropriate genre editor (this last bit may seem trivial, but it makes our jobs the slightest bit easier, so thank you in advance). Manuscripts or other materials will be recycled.

All submissions must be previously unpublished. The Pinch purchases first North American serial rights upon acceptance; after publication, rights revert back to the author. Payment for publication is two copies of The Pinch issue in which the work appears. We accept simultaneous submissions, but please note if so in your cover letter.

Send only original work. If your work quotes or borrows from other work, that source should receive credit.

We prefer online submissions but do still accept snail-mail ones. We do NOT, however, accept submissions via email.

*Please note that all submissions are eligible for either journal or website publication.

ONLINE SUBMISSIONS

Please select the genre for which you are submitting for and then pay the $3 reading fee. Subscribers can submit for free through the “Subscriber’s Submission” category. People expressly solicited by a member of The Pinch staff can also submit for free through the “Solicited Submission” category.

SNAIL MAIL SUBMISSIONS

Online submissions are strongly preferred, but should you chose to submit via mail, please allow extra time for a response. All submissions should also include a SASE and email address for response. As stated above, all manuscripts are recycled unreturned.  We will not respond via email unless your work is chosen for publication.
