bloom of moon jelly dads in a bathtub
By Bek Primrose
you kneel at the tub
clawed feet dig in gravel
water runs from the faucet
continuous
your feet grow wet
still you kneel
with the net in your palms
fishing for his cracked pieces
moon jellies floating
bobbing
wave the net through the water
drag it over the porcelain bottom
curl your toes in the chill
water up to your thighs
spilling from the tub over your legs
focus on the pale moon shapes
blobs curve away
spilling over
water level
up at your chest
up at your head
mouth open
fill your lungs
moon jellies drift up
free from the tub
into the aquarium
