Doing Drag For You

By Jackie Sabbagh

By you I mean me.
I don’t know how to block an eyebrow, my gaffe itches,
no one remembers Duffy, why am I wearing
a yellow tartan three-piece for a strip mall.
Everyone is getting ready in the falafel restaurant
they let us use for a dressing room. Local customers
complain of glitter in the kibbeh.
I have wanted to kill myself for eighteen years
and now I’m stuffing my bra. I’ll do this for two more
and then we’ll have the talk I’ve been putting off.
